More than 18 000 islands scattered over the emerald green waters, tropical forests, mysterious and ominous-looking volcanoes, fabulous beaches and beautiful coral reefs – it is hard to believe that all this beauty belongs just to Indonesia!
Indonesia is also famous for the production of the well-known Schooners often called Phinisi. The yachts are based on the traditional designs of a bygone romantic era, but with modern comfort and technology.
The Komodo Islands are one of the best places for yachting and diving in Indonesia. They are particularly known as the natural habitat of the Komodo dragon, the largest lizard on earth, and its unique fauna. Komodo contains a beach with pink sand, one of only seven in the world.
Komodo National Park is located in the centre of the Indonesian archipelago. In 1986, the Park was declared a World Heritage Site and a “Man and Biosphere Reserve” by the UNESCO. The Park provides refuge for many species and includes one of the richest maritime environments like coral reefs, mangroves, sea grasses, seamounts, and semi-enclosed bays.
Discover also the sperm whales of Banda, Lombok’s beaches of white or black (volcanic) sand, and the sandalwood forests of Sumba.
After visiting the islands of Indonesia, take advantage of being so close to Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and Australia to reach them.
