A 'bareboat' charter is a term which means that a boat is hired without crew or inclusive provisioning. In the case of a bareboat charter the charterers themselves are responsible for the crewing and provisioning of the yacht. Bareboat charters have become increasingly popular since the 1990's. Bareboats come in many shapes and sizes in most of the best cruising areas around the world, ie, Mediterranean, Caribbean, Indian Ocean and the Pacific.
